Two of literature’s most famous stories are set to be brought to life in the open air.

Alice in Wonderland by Lewis Carroll and Shakespeare’s Macbeth will be staged by Say Two Productions at Bretherton Hall in August.

Dynamic, interative and suitable for all the family Alice in Wonderland will be staged on Sunday, August 2 at 3pm and Macbeth, often referred to as the “Scottish play’’ premiers on Saturday, August 15 at 3pm.

The performances include pre-show director’s talks and interactive fun workshops.

The two productions could not be more different or contrasting with Alice in Wonderland, which this year celebrates its 150th anniversary, telling the story of a young girl who falls asleep and finds herself in a fantasy adventure world and Macbeth focusing on ambition, murder, retribution, guilt and despair.
