If you missed the panto – and no, we’re really not making this up – last Wednesday, there’s still chance to see the Wizard of Oz tomorrow (Aug 3).
Yes, that’s right, Wednesday. High summer just about on the turn towards autumn.
If the plot wasn’t surreal enough, the yellow brick road now leads to Oz via North Pier for a series of summer musical pantomime adventures.
The cast is headed by Britain’s Got Talent finalist Steven Hall (The Wizard), and North Pier funny man Reece Sibbald (Scarecrow) who also runs his own production company.
The show introduces talented Pippa Smith as Dorothy.
Steve also plays the Merrie England Showbar every Saturday and Sunday.
Wednesdays mean panto time for local and visiting audiences alike at the 1,500-seater theatre.
And it really is a long way from Kansas, Toto...
Shows are August 3, 10, 17, and 24, with performances from 2.30pm and 7pm on each day.
Door opens 30 minutes before each performance – seating is unreserved – and tickets are £10.50, family £25.50-£30. Call 01253 623304.
