What better way to enjoy the half term holidays than with a trip to the theatre to see the classic tale of The Railway Children?

For E Nesbit’s well loved tale will be brought to life in a new adaptation on Sunday, October 30 at Thornton Little Theatre at 2.30pm by Starbright Entertainments.

Roberta, Peter and Phyllis’ father is falsely accused of selling state secrets and is sent to prison for five years. The children and their mother have to leave their London home and move to a cottage next to a railway in Yorkshire. They quickly make friends with the station master and an old gentleman who waves everyday from his carriage on the 9.15am to London and this friendship proves to be a fortunate one and could be key to the release of their father....

A beautiful blend of storytelling, drama, comedy and musical theatre, this is a lovely way to make literature come alive.

Tickets are £9, available by ringing 01253 887693.
