A special Hallowe’en and Trick or Treat event has been organised by the manager of a Clitheroe town centre clothes shop.
Lucy Greenhalgh, who is the manager of La Tete et Tout on Moor Lane, is inviting parents this Hallowe’en to get the kids dressed up and Trick or Treat along Clitheroe’s high street.
“People get annoyed with Trick or Treaters knocking on their doors and we thought that this Hallowe’en trail would create more of a fun atmosphere as well as attract people to town centre shops,” said Lucy.
And in preparation for the Hallowe’en trail, on Sunday October 30th from 11 am to 3 pm, children are invited to Clitheroe Castle gates to carve a pumpkin ready for the eve of October 31st.
Alternatively, children are invited to bring their own pumpkin along. These should be clearly named with a contact number as there are prizes for the most creative.
On Hallowe’en itself, Monday October 31st, children are invited to dress in their spookiest outfit and join the Trick or Treat trail around the shops starting at 3 pm from La Tete et Tout and finishing with a grand finale at Clitheroe Castle gates at 7 pm.
Maps will be available from the clothes shop which is situated at 22 Moor Lane and once again there will be prizes for the best Hallowe’en costume worn by those taking part.
Children will be asked to find the witches hats displayed in shop windows along the trail noting down what colour witch’s hat is in each shop. There will also be sweet treats in the shops along the way.
The event finale will be at Clitheroe Castle gates when everyone is invited to gather at 7 pm to see the display of pumpkins which will all be lit up.
A similar event was held in the town a couple of years ago.
