Lancashire talent and mandolin player Mike Giverin will be performing at Garstang Unplugged on Thursday night with his band The Jaywalkers.

The trio, including singer and guitar player Jay Bradberry and Lucille on the double bass, are set to entertain with their innovative and upbeat fuse of folk and bluegrass.

The former BBC Young Folk Award finalists will share tracks from their third studio album - Weave at the Kenlis Arms, Barnacre on Thursday February 18 from 8.30pm

Most of their songs are written/inspired by stories and poetry from around the county.

A spokesperson for the band said: “The main theme running through the album is a study of the hardships of life in the Lancashire working classes. There are moments of playful respite – their instrumentals are fast, playful up-tempo tunes – but the songs tell tales of protest, poverty, fight for freedom and, as is inevitable with folk songs, death.

“The night promises to be an entertaining, foot stomping evening and is not to be missed!”
