Another bumper crowd is expected for this year’s Myerscough College open day and country fair.

More than 250 different attractions are on offer for the ever popular event this coming Sunday, June 8, on the college’s main site in Bilsborrow.

Last year saw a record attendance of around 16,000 to see the demonstrations, shows and interactive activities from the colleges many diverse subject areas as well as food, drink and live music and entertainment.

Prospective students also got the chance to see the beautiful campus at its best and chat with tutors and staff from each area.

Highlights of the day include equestrian shows and demonstrations, motorsport and machinery, displays, the many agricultural shows and falconry demonstrations, photography and floral exhibitions, sports tournaments and children’s activities.

The agriculture and countryside zones and superb landscaped gardens also always prove extremely popular by attracting many visitors.

Highlights of the day will include motorsport and farm machinery displays and activities, the popular sheep show, 4x4 Land Rover rides, the 3Sixty Bicycle Stunt Team, gundogs, falconry, parade of hounds, archery, laser clay and airgun rifle shooting and a Lancashire Young Farmers tug of war competition.

For horse lovers, there will be a fantastic range of events at the state of the art equestrian arena while animal enthusiasts will enjoy regular tours of the Animal Academy, shildren’s pets, a range of veterinary nursing events, the Made in Lancashire food fayre and much more.
