Whitechapel and Inglewhite Bowling Club’s president for the 2015 season is to be Bill Catterall, following his investiture at the recent club AGM, attended by 25 members.

Bill was a founder member of the bowling club and was heavily involved with its construction and maintenance.

In the early years he was also the green keeper.

It was also announced Leslie Riding had excepted the invitation to be 2016 president.

The bowling club committee also re-elected a number of officers to serve for another three year term.

The chairman had earlier reported the club was very much a part of the village hall and as such regularly supported fund raising activities to support the hall, the most recent being the annual Christmas fair during which members ran a

table selling brick a brack which raised £214.

The club also donated £100 to Whitechapel Primary School’s initiative to buy and install of a a defibrilator which would be accessible to everyone - the equipment designed for use on children as well as adults. This project has been supported by all the village hall organisations.

The treasurer also gave his annual financial report, informing the meeting the annual subs would remain at £30 per person; but membership was down and applications from perspective new members would be welcomed.
