One-time title challengers Longridge look like they are going to end the Moore and Smalley Palace Shield Premier Division season with a whimper after they lost by one wicket to Torrisholme at Chipping Road.

Luke Platt’s 49 was the highlight of the hosts’ 129-9, with Graham Lee taking 3-19 and running out Rory McDowell for good measure.

Ian Simpson was undefeated on 19 while Neil Holden (14), Josh Mullin (12) and Tom Howarth (11) all got starts to their respective innings.

In reply, Chris Parry’s knock of 46 saw the visitors over the line despite McDowell’s excellent figures of 5-27.

The seconds enjoyed a victory as they posted 145-8 and then bowled out Fylde for 63 with Andy Simpson taking 6-12.

However, the thirds went down by nine wickets against Grimsargh after batting first and being skittled for 66.

As for the fourths, they were one-wicket winners against Fylde’s seconds.

Having restricted Fylde to 120-9, Longridge reached their target with a wicket in hand with Andrew Rhodes hitting 45.
