LONGRIDGE Hockey Club's U16 side were in action over the half term break when they hosted a touring team from Gillots School, Oxfordshire.
The match was an excellent game full of end to end action. However, the Longridge side worked well and from a fantastic save by goalkeeper Katy Blezard the ball was cleared from the circle, the defenders gave great support play allowing the midfield to push up with the forwards to put immense pressure on the touring side's defence, and eventually the first goal went in for Longridge. Gillotts raised their game and equalised, but the Longridge girls were out to impress and some neat play saw the final score be a 3-1 victory for the home side.

Jenny Key, a year 11 student at St Cecilia's High School and regular 1st team player at the club, spent the first weekend of half term playing for the North U15 team, in the U15 regional tournament at Millfield School, Somerset. From all accounts Jenny performed very well and scored a fantastic goal in the game against the East.
