Ribchester Rovers Football Club is making an eleventh hour plea to the community to vote for them in a bid to receive grant aid for their much needed new pavilion.
They are asking everyone to log into the link htps://community-fund.aviva.co.uk/voting/Project/View/1211 on their computers and vote for them in a bid to raise £25,000 towards the £150,000 target from the Aviva Community Fund.
Winning the Aviva Community grant is dependent on how many online votes the club can gather, but finishes at the end of May, leaving until Sunday for votes to be cast.
Ribchester is aiming to replace the pre-war, dilapidated pavilion situated in a corner of the village’s recreation ground, with a modern one satisfying current Sport England and Football Association standards, with new changing, shower and toilet facilities, disabled access and storage facilities.
Other village organisations too, will be able to benefit from the facility, including Ribchester Field Day, Ribchester Runners’ Club and also the tennis club.
Local fundraising has so far raised £25,000 and the club is also applying for various grants.
