Community spirit was clearly in evidence when Longridge Golf Club hosted a Corporate Golf Day for Longridge High School on Friday, May 15 to raise vital funds to replace their sports hall floor.

This new venture for the high school saw 17 teams playing the golf course whilst local traders and business partners provided prizes for both the golf competition and an evening raffle.

Participants enjoyed excellent weather to beat the early evening rain and raised a total of £2,640 to enhance the sports hall, which is a facility available for use by the whole community.

The winners on the day were the Scott Janitorial team with a score of 55.4 with Longridge Golf Club Captain Andrew Slater leading his team to runners-up spot with 56.

Jointly organised by Longridge High School’s Caroline Bridge and the club’s PGA Professional Stephen Taylor (whose team finished third with 57.3), Longridge Golf Club look forward to similar partnership ventures with the school in the future.
