Longridge Town manager Lee Ashcroft was pleased at the way his players showed another side to their game at the weekend.
Following on from their comfortable midweek victory against Haslingden St Marys, Town left it late before beating Hesketh Bank on Saturday.
Ash Ball’s stoppage-time effort gave them a 1-0 win, setting them up nicely for Saturday’s Richardson Cup home meeting with Garstang.
“It’s a good win for us,” said Ashcroft afterwards.
“We know what to expect when we come here, but we tend to come through OK and have a good record against them.
“It was a different game to midweek and we couldn’t really get going, but the result ended up the same – a win and three more points.
“Midweek games have finished now for a while, and the league takes a break, so it was important to go into that break with another win, and to remain unbeaten
“Ash has been excellent for me this season again, and he’s enjoying his football, even today when it was difficult to play.”
