The long-running Longridge Church Lads and Church Girls Brigade continues to go from strength-to-strength but is planning to attract more boys to join by forming a football club.
Leaders explain that although the club has more than 40 members, just four are boys.

“We would like more boys to join and so, after Easter, we are starting a boys’ football club on Tuesday nights. This will be held at Berry Lane School from 7pm till 8pm, and will be run by our modern apprentice, Jake Catt.
“We are aiming for boys from year six over and, as we are a church organisation, members will have, or be expected to have, links with our parish, St Lawrence with St Paul’s.”
The Brigade in Longridge meets on Wednesday evenings during school term time at Longridge CE Primary School on Berry Lane. There are four sections, each for a different age group - Martins for children aged 5-7 years. Y-Team for 7-10 year-olds and JTC for those aged 10-13 and seniors for young people aged 13-21.
