Longridge Town manager Lee Ashcroft was especially unhappy after watching his side knocked out of the Richardson Cup last weekend.
Town were beaten 2-1 at Vickerstown on a day when they paid dearly for a number of absentees.
Some, such as the ineligible Adam Stammers and Mitch Leece, were understandable, as was the absence of skipper George Melling (suspended).
However, Ashcroft was less enamoured with other aspects of their defeat.
He said: “Credit to the lads who’ve turned up and played, and to the three lads that have made the long journey knowing that they couldn’t be involved, but I do feel let down today with a few things that i’ll deal with in the week.
“We are back up here in the league next Saturday, and I’m determined that we’ll see a stronger side, and a different performance, in what is a big game for us.
“We know what to expect and we’ll have to work a lot harder to get the three points that we need.”
