A small village with a big heart is showcasing what it has to offer this weekend.
Shops, businesses and residents in Whalley have spent six months building their community back up since it was devastated by floods on Boxing Day.
And Visit Whalley Weekend is encouraging visitors from across Lancashire to come and see just what the village has to offer. Visit Whalley has been organised by the independent shops in the village who want to attract tourists and shoppers to the town with a series of demonstrations, prize draws and free refreshments.
And Whalley Abbey, the jewel in the village’s crown, is offering free entry all weekend.
The weekend aims to show the fighting spirit of a community that has pulled together to become stronger than ever and ready to face whatever the future throws at it.
Ribble Valley MP Nigel Evans and other community leaders have come together to appeal for people to come to Whalley and see the amazing strides it has made since December.
