The trip of a lifetime was how taking control of plane felt for three Leonard Cheshire Disability residents as they conquered their fears thousands of feet in the air.
Simon Holden, Karen Paine and Simon Willacy all live in the Oaklands branch in Garstang but travelled down to Stafford to enjoy the trip in the plane.
With the help of charity Aerobility, the three sat in and piloted a Cessna aeroplane.
Julie Kennedy, activities organiser, said: “It was a brilliant day and it has really increased their confiedence and self respect. I think the look on Karen’s face is everything you need to know.”
The centre on Dimples Lane “supports disabled people to have the freedom to live their lives the way they choose” and “create our own community”.
