Firefighters rescued a woman who was trapped in her car following a two-car crash near Longridge.

Crews were called out to the accident on Green Moor Lane shortly after 8.30am on Thursday, November 16.

They found one driver already out of their vehicle with the other trapped after a Tesla and a Citroen C4 collided.

Crew Manager Mike Birks said: "Two engines attended the accident from Preston and Longridge.

"One of the drivers was trapped in her car after the impact damaged her door.

"We used cutting equipment to remove the doors and roof and took her out using a long board.

"Thankfully she was very lucky and seemed to have only received slight injuries.

"She was taken to hospital by ambulance.

"We'd like to remind the general public to drive according to conditions and if conditions are a bit wet, please slow down."

A spokesman for the police said: "We were called out to a crash involving a Tesla and a Citroen C4. A woman was taken to hospital with what are believed to be minor injuries."

Crews remained at the scene for around one-and-half hours.
