Clitheroe barber salon, The Men’s Room based on King Street, is launching a four week campaign to support the Ribble Valley Foodbank.
Starting on Monday and continuing to February 8th, for every haircut or cut throat shave, The Men’s Room will donate 10% of the cost directly to the foodbank.
The Men’s Room will also be offering the salon as a drop off point during this period for local residents to supply any toiletries, tins and dry food donations.
Barber, international stylist and owner of the Men’s Room, Joseph Lanzante said: “At Christmas time people’s attention naturally turns to helping those less fortunate. However, as we move into January there tends to be a shift in focus as we all resume our very busy, hectic lives. Hence we are keen to make a commitment to assist Ribble Valley Foodbank and hope that locally we will receive a lot of support for this very worthy cause.”
Ruth Haldane, Ribble Valley Foodbank manager said: “The support of the Men’s Room is much appreciated. As well as food donations, we also need to raise funds to cover our running costs. Thank you for helping local people in crisis. We particularly need long life milk and fruit juice, tinned meat, sugar, pasta sauce, men’s toiletries, washing up liquid and washing powder and baby toiletries.”
Ribble Valley Foodbank works in partnership with the Trussell Trust which runs more than 400 foodbanks nationwide. The foodbank provides three days’ nutritionally balanced emergency food and support to local people in crisis.
