Get ready everyone, “It’s that show again!” Ribcaged, the professional theatre company with strong Ribchester connections will be in the village to open and close Ribchester Field Day, at the same time marking their 10th anniversary with an action packed “cabaret celebration”.
Previous such shows staged as “Keith Flood and friends” or “Ribcaged within tent” have proved to be immensely popular, with this year’s celebration aptly named “It’s that show again!” because it is just that!
Yes, it is a decade since Owen Phillips, Keith Flood and co started Ribcaged and it has been a roller coaster of a ride, so, where better than Ribchester to celebrate, with extracts from their shows over the years?
Keith says they will going right back to the beginning, to “The War Bus” which opened at the Ribchester Festival in 2005 and went onto the Edinburgh Fringe and was written and directed by Ribchester bred Owen. There will be extracts from the “Dickensian Evening” with a scene from Great Expectations and from Debt which, while dealing with a serious subject, will also have a comic side. There will be scenes from “An Inspector Calls,” “Macbeth” and “The Tempest” and the show also includes comedy sketches, and songs by Arthur Geldard.
Tickets are £10 and performances are on June 19 in the marquee on the rec at 7pm and on June 21 in the village hall at 7pm - available from 01254 878479.
