Events will be staged in Clitheroe to support this year’s Christian Aid Week (May 15th-21st).
Last year, people in the Ribble Valley area raised more than £15,000 to tackle poverty in some of the world’s poorest corners. This year, in addition to the door-to-door collection, a coffee morning will be held at Trinity Methodist Church, Parson Lane, on Saturday between 10 am and noon, where cakes will be available to take home as well as to enjoy with a cup of coffee. Then on Saturday May 21st from 10 am to noon, Clitheroe Community Church on Millthorne Avenue will hold a community event, with activities and face painting for children plus coffee and cakes for adults. There will also be a car washing team.
Kim Taylor, a local Christian Aid representative said: “We’d like to thank local people for being so generous in the past, and we look forward to welcoming them at this year’s events.”
