Committee members for the major community event that is Goosnargh and Longridge show on Saturday, July 5, are on course to once more make it a fabulous day.

They have taken tomorrow’s (Thursday) market day coffee morning slot at the Civic Hall and have obtained the help of Teresa Gethin to tempt shoppers and supporters.

Teresa will be making her usual delicious hotpot and sweets, there will also be the varied market stalls, and advance tickets for the show at discount prices, also for the raffle prizes, will be available.

The show raffle this year is being run by the WI Section, and the committee is very grateful to Miranda Radford and her team for organising all the prizes. As well as the usual big cash prizes, there will be lots of generous prizes from the WI, local businesses and the show’s section secretaries. There will also be a free prize draw tomorrow at the Civic Hall for everyone who buys a show raffle ticket that morning.

Organisers say the advance tickets are a bargain not to be missed for a day which includes lots of free activities and rides for children - “proving it to be probably the best family day out of the summer,” they add.
