Police have urged motorists to be cautious after thieves targeted several cars parked in residential areas of Clitheroe.

In the early hours of Friday morning the rear side window of a VW Polo car parked on Buccleugh Avenue was smashed and a satellite navigation device stolen.

Around the same time, a silver Mercedes car parked on Edisford Road had its rear side front window smashed and a substantial amount of cash and bank cards stolen.

Meanwhile, an insecure Renault Scenic car parked in Hall Street was also targeted overnight on Thursday with a calculator and paperwork stolen.

Anyone with information about any of these incidents are asked to contact Clitheroe Police by dialling 101 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
