Residents at Abbeyfield Castle View House have toasted the local authority for helping make their lives a lot safer. They were delighted to see that Ribble Valley Council had re-surfaced the lane that runs alongside Clitheroe Health Centre on Railway View Road.

Margot Moran, who is the house manager at the sheltered housing facility close to the railway station, said: “The ladies living here felt very unsafe on the uneven, potholed surface so would walk all the way round King Street to get to the doctors.

“Now it’s under the bridge and straight across so a sincere thank you to the council, keep up the good work.”
