Organised group could be targeting Land Rovers: Police warning

Police have issued a warning that an organised group could be targeting Land Rovers in the Ribble Valley.

The warning comes after a second Land Rover in the space of a few days was stolen from outside a Ribble Valley property.

This second theft is of a red/purple Land Rover Defender 90 which was stolen from the driveway of a farm at Whitewell between the hours of 8 and 10 pm on Monday night.

It is believed after the Land Rover, which is a short wheelbase vehicle and has a private registration plate, was taken thieves headed towards Bashall Eaves.

Just a few days before this theft, a Land Rover Defender 90 was taken without the use of keys from a residential area close to Waddington Social Club at around 10 pm on Thursday, July 16th.

The blue, short wheelbase vehicle has the registration number M962 BSJ.

Police are currently checking CCTV footage to trace the vehicle’s movements and anyone with information about either theft should contact Clitheroe Police by dialling 101.
