A law student from Clitheroe has bagged herself a work experience placement with a top firm after winning an essay writing competition.
Chloe Reynard (23) is in her final year studying Law at University of Central Lancashire and entered a competition launched by Vincents’ Solicitors, Preston, during a recent careers fair.
The idea was to write about a current law, how you would change it and why.
James Yates, solicitor at Vincents’, said:“Chloe’s essay looked at changing the law that means offenders serve only half of their sentence. She certainly has a good grasp of legal theory and we hope that her placement will give Chloe a good insight into the practical realities of being a solicitor.”
After finding out she had won the competition, Chloe, a former pupil of Ribblesdale High School, Clitheroe, said: “It was a good opportunity to express my opinion on an important legal point and demonstrate what I’ve learned over the last three years.”
“I was shocked to win but very proud that the judges thought I had done a good job.’’
