Longridge Community Hospital has been recognised as ‘good’ by the Care Quality Commission who inspected the 15 bed unit, which is run by nurses and supported by local GPs, in April.

An NHS spokesman said the inspectors also spoke to patients and their families during the visit, who told them the hospital staff were “all very kind, sympathetic, helpful” and the service provided was “wonderful and could not be faulted”.

Delighted to hear such positive feedback, Ward manager Sue Howarth said: “It means a lot that the work we do has such a positive impact on the community and we will continue to aim to provide the highest quality of care.”
