Saturday, September 19 was long pencilled in the diaries of Grimsargh folk and they were not to be disappointed, for the glorious Grimsargh Field Day Ball returned in style.

The not-to-be missed event went with a real swing as more than 70 exuberant revellers enjoyed a delicious meal at The New Drop, Ribchester and then danced enthusiastically long into the night. Sharp suits and gorgeous gowns adorned the dance floor, as disco classics pulsated through the September night air.

Guests enjoyed a first rate three course dinner and were entertained splendidly by the very talented Ribble Valley vocalist, Grace Davies who regaled the audience with inspirational songs from her own album “My Kingdom” and also included several Amy Winehouse classics for good measure.

There was also a raffle, games and a hilarious comedy photo booth.

Chairman, Keith Middlebrough, thanked former chair, Nicky Baylis, for all her efforts over the last 10 years. The current committee was also thanked for its commitment, enthusiasm and hard work.

Keith said: “I am absolutely delighted by the evening and I am sure that field day 2016 will be more successful than ever.”

The future certainly looks bright for next year’s field day and the committee hopes that much needed funds will have been raised by this memorable evening.
