Clitheroe Wolves Under 7’s Yellow football team have had their brand new kit sponsored by Dr Kate Sherry whose business “Ancestor Trail” researches family history.
Based at Horton, near Gisburn, Kate set up the business last November after spending over a decade researching her own family history and that of friends and relatives.
“My avid interest in family history and genealogy began when my children were born. I wanted to explain who their ancestors were and how they had influenced their lives,” Kate (44) explained.
“Since then my love and knowledge of family history research has grown and after 10 years of researching for my own family and friends, I decided to become a professional genealogist and share my family history expertise and passion with others.”
Kate’s son Daniel plays for the Under 12’s team at Wolves which her husband Chris coaches.
Clitheroe Wolves, which has more than 400 registered children (boys and girls), is a charity and relies on local businesses to operate.
