A special concert at Trinity Methodist Church and Community Hub, Clitheroe, on Saturday May 7th will feature the pianist daughter of the late Kenneth Bowker who was well-known locally as a Clitheroe dentist.
Roselinde Glossop (née Bowker), her husband David and their daughter Judith, all professional musicians who perform together as the Rosevaad Ensemble, will perform a selection of light classical and popular music as a tribute to the memory of her father.
The family ensemble will play a varied selection of pieces, ranging from Bach to Brubeck. Money raised from the concert will be put towards ongoing development at Trinity. Kenneth Bowker was a member of the church on Parson Lane for more than 50 years.
All three musicians have a wide range of professional experience. Roselinde plays piano with the Westwinds Chamber Ensemble, as well as giving solo recitals and accompanying singers and instrumentalists from leading orchestras. Oboeist David has performed frequently as a soloist with orchestras and chamber ensembles and is currently Head of Woodwind Teaching for Shropshire Music Service. Flautist Judith was performing in local and national children’s and youth orchestras from a young age and now also works in music education as Joint Head of Waltham Forest Music Service.
The concert starts at 7-30 pm and tickets (£8) are available from Jean Robinson (01200 424849) or Roland Hailwood (01200 424240), or people can pay on the door.
