Clitheroe’s very own Crinoid has been brought to life.
The seabed animal that occurs in fossils in Salthill Quarry was created in sculpture at a special family day called Quarry Tales.
Adults and children joined in with making the sculpture at the day which was held thanks to a grant from the Heritage Lottery Fund. There were guided tours led by Kim Coverdale from the Lancashire Wildlife Trust and visitors also got the chance to create a collage of drawings and rubbings from the fossils they discovered.
Experts were also on hand to talk about the history of the Salthill Quarry.
