A packed audience enjoyed a concert by a talented local musician celebrating the launch of his solo album “Back to the Yellow Hills”.
Richard Moss’ album features original compositions as well as traditional songs. Some songs, tunes and material have been adapted from Blackburn poets of the 1800’s such as William Billington and Robert West Whalley.
The concert was held at Liz and Lils tearoom, in Blackburn, to a packed house. The audience was spellbound by tales in local dialect, ballads and acrobatic instrumentals. Richard was joined at the performance by Blackburn-based ace fiddle player Julian Taylor and Darwen musician, John Taylor, on rhythm guitar.
The album was recorded at the Grand studio, in Clitheroe, with artwork by local photographer/artist Derren Lee Poole who documented the event.
