For Alex, Catherine, Charles, Louisa, Max, Millie and Susannah, Christmas is set to come early this year!
The seven Cockerham Primary School pupils have all been rehearsing hard since September ready to take to the stage in Cockerham Variety Productions latest offering, Joe Carpenter and Son.
Alex, the youngest performer in the show said: ‘The rehearsals have been really good. We’ve got lots of great songs to sing and the play is really funny. I’m really looking forward to being in the show.’
Joe Carpenter and Son isn’t your traditional Nativity story, with a postman moonlighting as the Angel Gabriel and ‘The Proclaimers’ famous hit song ‘500 miles’ making surprise appearances.
Anna Scott, Musical Director for the group added: ‘We have been having a great time at rehearsals and have put together a great evenings entertainment for all the family.
“ The last time the group staged a show like this was back in October 2013 when we performed ‘Joseph’ to sell out audiences. We are really looking forward to showing off some of the talent that Cockerham boasts in our latest show. Our biggest stars though are without doubt the children!”
The show opens on Thursday November 19, 7:30pm at Cockerham Village Hall and runs till Saturday November 21.
Tickets cost £6 adults, £3 children (under 12) and can be booked by calling Bernie on 01524 791882.
