Families from Garstang and beyond will be given an authentic taste of Sicily as a new bistro opens its doors.

Slice of Sicily, which already has branches in Fulwood and Penwortham, has now opened its third venue.

And the owner has even brought in workers from his home town of Trapani, bringing a true taste of the Mediterranean to Lancashire.

Owner Etty Criscenti said: “We’ve been 12 years in Penwortham, we opened in Fulwood two years ago, and on Friday we opened the new one in Claughton on Brock in the old Brockholes Arms.

“We’re not a restaurant as such, we are more of a bistro with a bar so people can come just for a drink or for a coffee or for a meal.We do light bites and an a la carte menu, and we are open on Sundays.”
The venue also imports wine and has its own deli, and Etty now hopes to expand the business across the north west including Lancashire, Manchester, Merseyside and Cumbria.

He said: “We are looking to go into franchising in the new year and there’s the potential to open another four branches in the next 18 months.”
