A popular Farmers’ Market and Craft Fair in the heart of East Lancashire has been given a boost by one of its regular customers.

Andrew Turner, owner of estate agency Pendle Hill Properties, has sponsored new advertising banners promoting Whalley Farmers’ Market and Craft Fair around the area.

Held on the third Sunday of each month, the market sees the centre of

Whalley filled with stalls from 10 am to 2 pm, each selling some of the area’s finest locally produced foods and ingredients.

Around 20 stalls on the car park of the Whalley Arms offer a variety of produce including meat and game, cheese, pate, jams and preserves, artisan bread, Asian snacks, meringues and even plants.

And in the adjacent Village Hall, around 15 craft businesses gather to sell their lovingly made goods from woodturned products, knitted clothing and homewares, and greetings cards.

Andrew Turner, owner of Pendle Hill Properties said: “Whalley Farmers’ Market is a busy local market in a thriving small town that brings shoppers into the centre on the third Sunday of the month. It’s practically on our doorstep and we’re pleased to sponsor these banners to help spread the word about this great market.”

Whalley Farmers’ Market was founded early last year by local food producers Paul Yates of Que Fresco and Derek Jones of Heritage Kitchen Preserves.

Derek said: “Whalley market and craft fair gets tremendous support from local Lancashire producers and the Whalley village community. We are delighted with the new banners provided by Pendle Hill Properties which we hope will bring more visitors to Whalley on every third Sunday in the month.”

The next Whalley Farmers’ Market takes place on Sunday, June 19th. For more information, visit the market’s Facebook page – search for Whalley Farmers Market & Craft Fair.
