A series of evening concerts entitled “Brass at the Bounty” are being staged at the Hark to Bounty Inn at Slaidburn.
The first is being held tonight (Thursday) when Slaidburn Brass Band will perform at 7-15 pm.
Slaidburn Brass Band is celebrating the 20th anniversary this year of this long-running series of concerts. Starting in 1996 at the Hark to Bounty, the concerts have proved very popular with residents and with visitors who often travel long distances to attend.
Four concerts are held each year on the last Thursdays of May, June, July and August all starting at 7-15 pm. This year the concert dates are tonight (Thursday), June 30th, July 28th and August 25th.
Although admission is free to the concerts, at which food and drink is available, the band does take a collection for its funds.
Anyone who wants to know more about these evenings can contact the band’s conductor John Cowking on 01200 423855.
