St Cecilia’s RC High School in Longridge is not only inviting everyone along to a musical talent show, but the evening will provide the opportunity for one lucky concert goer to buy – at auction – internationally renowned tenor Alfie Boe’s first guitar.
The guitar has also been signed by the singer, who is the school’s patron of music.
St Cecilia’s Got Talent will take place on Wednesday, April 27 at 7pm at the school.
Headteacher Ivan Catlow said: “Why not come along and see pupils from all year groups battle it out?
“We are extremely thankful to Alfie for donating the guitar and look forward to seeing who the successful bidder is.”
There will be a variety of talent including solo artists, duets and full-band pieces with songs by Bon Jovi, Justin Bieber, Adele and more by pupils aged from 11-16.
The audience chooses their favourite acts before seeing if they are crowned champions.
Head of Music Mrs Hall said: “We are extremely proud of the musical talent here at St Cecilia’s and every year we are amazed by the high standard of pupil performances.
“This year proves to be no exception and we are really looking forward to the competition as it will be a closely fought contest.”
The guitar will be auctioned during the interval and there will also be a raffle and refreshments.
Tickets cost £5 (£2.50 concessions, under fives free) and are available from the school on 01772 783074.
