Aldi, the award-winning discount food retailer, wants to build a new store in Longridge, to the north of Whittingham Road, within the area of the previously approved residential development.

There will be a public exhibition for residents to go along and meet the project team, find out more and provide their feedback on the preliminary plans this Tuesday, July 14, from 3pm to 7pm at the Longridge Royal British Legion Club on Towneley Road, Longridge.

An Aldi spokesperson said: “We are excited about the prospect of delivering a new Aldi store for Longridge, creating additional shopping choice as well as jobs for the local area.”

The proposal represents a multi-million-pound investment into the area, and would create up to 40 jobs, with more during construction, plus supply chain opportunities.

If residents have any further queries they can call Aldi’s Freephone information line on 0800 298 7040 or visit the dedicated project website www.aldiconsultation.co.uk/longridge.

Aldi won the Which? Best Supermarket award in June, winning it for the fourth time since 2009.
