Tireless Ribchester fundraiser Alan Pinder arrived at Blackpool Tower last Saturday after successfully completing a circuit of the British mainland on his trusty bicycle.

Alan’s epic pedal-powered ride began on a cold, wet and windy Sunday morning, just over three months ago and since then he has visited the most southerly, easterly, northerly and westerly points of mainland Britain, clocking up an incredible 3,000 miles along the way.

Alan has been riding solo all around the British mainland and averaged 40 miles per day.

On Saturday Alan arrived back safely at Blackpool Tower without a single puncture to a great reception from family and friends. He was absolutely speechless to learn that his incredible challenge had raised more than £5,000 for RSPCA Altham. The charity’s branch administrator, Steve Suttie, said: “What Alan has done has really captured the public’s imagination. To complete such a remarkable journey takes a lot of courage and determination and I’m really delighted that the public have got behind Alan’s efforts and supported his good cause.”
