Longridge Town thanked everyone who took part after staging their first beer and football festival.

Last weekend’s three-day event began with a friendly against Fleetwood Town before a youth competition on Saturday was followed by a mini-tournament.

That saw Town’s new Veterams team face Legends sides representing Preston North End and Kendal Town.

Music also added to the family-friendly event with organisers hopeful that a similar event may take place in future.

A club spokesman said: “After a great weekend and numerous sore heads, we would like to thank all that attended this great weekend.

“We would like to thank all the support received for our first beer and football festival.

“A huge effort went into planning the event and happily the event was a massive success.

“We would like to thank Fleetwood Town for providing a team for the pre-season friendly that opened our festival.

“We’d also like to express our thanks to the Junior Committee for organising a brilliant Youth competition.

“And last but not least, the Preston North End Legends and Kendal Town Legends that came to support our very own Longridge Town Veterans in a mini-tournament.

“Lastly, we thank all our volunteers that aided our successful weekend, as well as The Versions and David Despard for providing the musical entertainment. All in all, a great weekend and we look forward to hopefully organising another event in the future.”
