AND the winners are... pupils at St Mary's Catholic Primary School at Claughton!
Youngsters at St Mary's collected the most tokens (pro rota) of all the many schools in the Courier and News circulation area that entered our latest Save4Sports promotion, in association with Mike's Sportsworld.
This is the third year we have run the competition and it proved more popular than ever, with schools collecting hundreds of tokens to win the fantastic prizes on offer.
St Mary's pupils won themselves a full football/netball kit, including shorts, socks and shirts, worth £350.
Runners-up were Calder Vale St Johns Primary, which gets tracksuits/warm-up tops for a full sports team, complete with the school logo, and third placed Bleasdale CE Primary won a sports balls kit, including footballs, netballs, rugby balls, cricket balls and tennis balls.
A special prize was awarded to Jade Read, a pupil at Barnacre School in Longridge, who won a pair of trainers from Mike's Sportsworld after being nominated as the pupil who made the most effort collecting tokens on behalf of a school.
Mike Thornton from Mike's Sportsworld visited St Mary's at Claughton on Monday this week to hand over their first prizes.
