Shining a light on losing weight was just what happened when two friends took part in a fundraising walk.

For Jenni Shoreman and Nicky Baylis decided to enter a 10.5 mile sponsored Moonlight Walk - and raised £300 for the Rosemere Cancer Foundation.

And the main inspiration for entering was their success as members of Longridge Weight Watchers in feeling fit enough because....they had lost a combined weight of more than a hundred pounds!

“We never could have completed a walk like this before losing the weight, we both feel so proud of what we’ve achieved.

“We couldn’t have done it without the support of our Weight Watchers leader, Claire Anderson, and the other members at Longridge Weight Watchers,” said Nicky.

“The walk was hard, but nothing compared to what people with cancer have to face.”

Jenni added: “Losing the weight has given us so much more energy and zest for life...I can now keep up with my young son and love walking and cycling.

“It’s been so good to be able to celebrate this weight loss by supporting such a worthwhile cause’.

The Rosemere Cancer Foundation raises funds to give the 9,000 new cancer patients diagnosed each year from Lancashire & South Cumbria the very best care to make their personal cancer journey and treatment process more comfortable.
