Tributes have been pouring in for a well known and much loved mum of five who has died after a long and brave battle against cancer.

Kellie Rea died just hours after coming home from the East Lancashire Hospice on her birthday yesterday to be with her family who are husband Nigel, her daughter Shannon, son Michael and step children Ben, Joe and Samantha.

Friends and family have been paying tribute to Kellie, of Billington, on Facebook as an inspiration to many people with her postiive attitude after she was first diagnosed with the disease in 2013.

In his post Paul David Hacker wrote the moving words to Kellie: “The pain of losing such a lovely friend will never go away. You are an inspiration too us all. Love you, look over us all like you did here.’’

After undergoing treatment Kellie took part in the Race for Life to raise money into Cancer Research.

And although she had to give up her job as a registered childminder she went on to open her own business, a milkshake bar in Clitheroe called the Shake Shack.
