There’s lots going on this bank holiday weekend throughout the area.

Whittingham Beer and Sausage Festival starts on Friday night and runs on Saturday and Sunday from 1pm each day at the sports and social club with more than 80 beers and 15 flavours of sausages as well as bands including Laser Monkeys, The Heat and The Rockits.

Hurst Green Village Fete is on Sunday, the parade leaiving St Peter’s Club at ...ready for an afternoon of fun.

There is a family Messy Gallery event in the Peter Scott Gallery at Lancaster University on Saturday at 10am and 11.15am with workshops suitable for 0-5-year-olds, £4-50 each, babes in arms free, with hands-on, imaginative and messy play - something for curious and creative minds of all ages.

And if you travel to the coast, pay Lytham Hall a visit and follow the new Alice in Wonderland themed secret door trail through the beautiful parkland.
