Now in its sixth year, the renowned biker breakfasts at Knowle Green Church are attracting around 80 bikers each month from all over the north west.
In fact, such is the history and success of this monthly gathering - which is always free but still manages to make a profit thanks to donations - the church’s pastor, Chris Okpoti is planning to write a book about them.....something along the lines of ‘The story in the life of a biker breakfast’.
Chris recalls the early days after biker Alison Porter came up with the idea, but how she died of cancer before they grew in popularity.
He learned recently fellow bikers carry out an annual ride in Alison’s memory and have raised £25,000 for cancer charities.
He also tells how their church treasurer met his wife at the biker breakfast and how three churches elsewhere in the region have set up similar breakfasts.
The breakfasts are held on the last Saturday of the month from 9am-12pm and the next one is on May 31.
