If you were hoping to dig the barbecue out of the shed this weekend you may have to wait just a little longer.
The week's unsettled weather looks set to continue through Friday evening and on into Saturday.
Outbreaks of rain are expected tonight which could be heavy at times, but will clear to isolated showers during the second half of the night, with minimum temperatures of 12C.
For Saturday a fair amount of cloud is expected along with some sunny spells, and temperatures as high as 21C. However, there may be some light showers across the north of the region.
The Met Office forecast for Sunday to Tuesday said: "Sunny spells and the odd light shower on Sunday, then Monday and Tuesday will be dry with lengthy sunny spells and increasingly warm."
