Organisers of the sports day remembering the late Andrew “Ollie” Hollingworth and Jade Cronshaw have decided to keep the “Ollie and Jade” title for the 2014 event, to be held this Sunday at Longridge Recreation Ground.

Committee member Lorraine Harrison says the team aims to add to the £15,000 already raised for research into epilepsy and leukaemia, the conditions which affected the two local young people.

A children’s football tournament starts at 10am, while afternoon activities begin at 1pm and feature a football tournament for the over-30s and a rounders contest for women and children.

Refreshments will be served by the Scouts, the committee will sell pop and crisps and there will be a football game with cash prize. It is then back to the British Legion for a buffet, drinks and to draw the grand raffle and children’s raffle.
