How would you like to learn more about a secure mental health unit? For a villages’ heritage group is inviting residents to a meeting to hear a talk about the unit’s history and current useage.

The talk will be hosted by Goosnargh and Whittingham Heritage Group at their meeting this coming Monday, November 21, to be held at the Whittingham and Goosnargh Sports and Social Club, within the grounds of the former Whittingham Hospital, at 7.30pm.

The speaker is David Keddie, with colleagues from Lancashire NHS Care Trust, who will be give a talk on ‘Past and Present Guild Lodge’.

Given the interest in Guild Lodge, the meeting is being opened up to the public, particularly for all those who worked at the former Whittingham Hospital, their relatives and friends and those who would simply like to know more about the wide-ranging support given at Guild Lodge for people with different types of mental health problems. David will also give information on a joint project with Lancashire Archives, Whittingham Lives, which GWHG will be working with in the future.

There will be light refreshments and a licensed bar.
