Sky’s no limit with rockets on way
Appliance of science: Science club members and Science teachers Vicki Oliver and Drew Thomson
Would-be scientists now have the opportunity to join a science club at Garstang Community Academy.
The club is a new extra-curricular activity where students participate in fun and exciting activities including: projects, improving their practical science skills, individual research and group work.
The first few weeks have been a huge success with great reviews from students:
“We have made plastic milk and lots more. I learn so much here.” Joshua, Year Seven.
“Science Club is really fun and I look forward to it every Monday.” Alice, Year Eight.
“We have made body parts out of sweets, mixed acids and alkalis to make the colours of the rainbow.” Antonia, Year Eight.
The students are looking forward to writing with fire, pond dipping and making rockets.
