Police appeal after jewellery stolen in Clitheroe house burglary

Burglars were disturbed by the homeowner while stealing jewellery from a Clitheroe house.

Police are appealing for information about the incident which happened at around 2-50 pm on Saturday May 7th on Beverley Close.

During the burglary the offender was disturbed by the homeowner, who then left.

It was later discovered a quantity of jewellery had been stolen.

Police have made inquiries in the area and a neighbour has reported seeing a male acting suspiciously in Beverley Close around the time of the offence. He is described as being white, aged in his 30s, about 5’10” – 6’0” tall, with dark hair and wearing a lemon coloured top that is further described as looking “washed out”, dark trousers and footwear similar to walking shoes. He is also described as having some sort of walking stick with a handle strap and carrying a white bag.

A police spokesman said: “If anyone in the vicinity has a CCTV system which records footage, can we ask you to please review your system and check for anyone fitting the above description.”
