Two Longridge Young Farmers’ Club members are through to the county finals of the YFC ‘Member of the Year’ competition.
Alan Holt took the title of junior regional member of the year, with Nathan Forshaw winning the intermediate age group award in the Fylde regional competition.
Members are initially chosen for having taken a full role within the YFC movement and representing their club well throughout the year. They are then put forward to the regional stage and the pair will now compete at county level.
Longridge members have recently enjoyed a visit to Blackburn Ice Rink for an open skate night and took part in an unusual evening of meat carcass classification and judging at Dunbia Meats, Walton Summit.
This turned into a very interesting and informative night, looking behind the scenes of such an operation.
Forthcoming events include a bonfire and firework display on November 4 plus stockjudging and an Halloween party.
